Who Sees Me?

Therapy is a chance for you to be seen, heard and understood, without judgement.  It is a chance for you to understand yourself better, or see your problems in a different way.  I offer alternative perspectives and a range of potential strategies that you can add to your toolbox, without you being told what to do - you are the expert on your life after all!

Knowing yourself, finding courage, and having support, can help you understand, and change the things you want to change in your life. I will be curious, gently challenging, and always encouraging in our conversations.

Maybe you want to break a pattern, start a habit, or find a focus?  Maybe you are struggling with anxiety or depression, or using substances in a way that no longer feels right for you.

Maybe your relationships are unsatisfying, or you want to develop new strategies for dealing with things and people?  Maybe you want to make peace with your past relationships, or make the ones you are in better.

Maybe you don't know exactly what you want, but you know something isn't working for you?

Experiences in life, starting in our childhood, create a web of interconnected thoughts, feelings and logic that guide our daily interpretations, actions, and decision making processes.  Therapy can help you identify and evaluate these default settings, and change the things that are not helpful to you  anymore.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. I am a certified Instructor and Coach in the Centre for Conflict Resolution at the Justice Institute of BC.

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING

75 minutes - $225

Newlyweds

RELATIONSHIP COUNSELLING

75 minutes - $225
(two people)

Personal relationships can be complicated.  You might be looking for help communicating effectively with a romantic partner, a parent, a sibling, or a close friend.

When you are ready to come for counselling together, I can help.

In addition to my academic studies, I have received practical training in different therapies specific to relationship counselling. I borrow the skills and techniques of the collection of approaches I have learned to suit the style and needs of my clients.  We can discuss what you feel will work best for you, and we can adjust how we work as we go.

The relationship between the therapist and both clients requires trust, connection and a good “fit”.  Please contact me for a free phone consultation, (usually 15 - 30 minutes) to discuss your goals for counselling, and ask any questions you might have about what to expect.

CONFLICT COACHING AND MEDIATION

1 hour - $150

Conflicts inevitably come up at work, with family and friends, and others.   If you have a specific conflict, or you are facing a challenging conversation with someone, I can help you prepare.  Our emphasis will be on practical preparation rather than deep therapeutic healing.

Together we can clearly define what you need. Then we can develop and practice some strategies that will help you navigate the challenging conversation so you feel good about both the outcome, and the relationship!

I also provide workplace mediation.

CAREER COUNSELLING

50 minutes - $150
75 minutes - $225

It is not uncommon to find yourself facing a workplace stressor.  Common issues are: problems with a coworker or supervisor; returning to work after an absence; wondering what the best next step is in your career and how to get there; and sorting out what retirement is going to look like.  Maybe you know where you want to go but you aren't sure how to get there.  Or maybe you are trying to find that perfect balance between your paid work and all the other things you value in your life.  I have the tools to help you gain the clarity you seek.
